3. Recommended Hair style

3.1 Please have a hair-cut or a hair-do to ensure a tidy wave suitable when wearing with the graduation cap. Groomed hair cut or neatly combed hair-do gives the graduates fresh and bright appearance.

3.2 Graduates whose hair are dyed or colorized with the colors different from the graduates’ original hair color, are advised to use a coloring spray to return the hair color to its original condition. Such colors as green, blue, gold or pink are considered inappropriate.

3.3 Please be mindful that graduation cap is a part of the graduation gown and any objects for hair decoration/ornaments/accessories are considered inappropriate and cumbersome to the investiture ceremony. Those artifacts may block the graduates’ faces when appearing in the official photographs. Unless the graduates observe their respective religions’ rules, the university suggests the graduates to avoid using additional head-dress, prominent hair-clips or head-decoration.

The graduates should be mindful that their appearances and the memory via photography on the commencement ceremony would remain significant for the rest of their lives. Such memorable photographs should illustrate the graduates’ best look in the elegant attire. Hence, the graduates should not allow unnecessary ornaments or accessories to tarnish their pride and values which radiate from their inner personality, nor should they give in to the fashions that might eclipse their natural joy which shines from their own smile.

Important Note: Graduates who declare their intention to participate in the Commencement Exercise and wish to take part in the process are required to strictly observe the state dress codes (item no. 2), unless information is stated as recommendations. Any graduates violating the aforementioned dress code would be subjected to the denial of their participation in the exercise.
